Year-by-Year:

1999: The Storm has high hopes for this speedster, renowned for his ability to score on big plays during a seven-season NFL career with the Packers, Buccaneers and Jets...Got off to a good start in his first preseason game, catching three passes for 31 yards and a fourth-quarter score against Orlando (4/10)...One week later at Florida, hauled in three more passes for 53 yards, good for a healthy 17.7-yard average...Did not have the most spectacular of debuts in his first regular season AFL game against Albany (4/24)...He caught four passes for 31 yards and scored on one of the receptions at the end of the first half, but caused an interception by running the wrong route on a first quarter pass play...Played against Milwaukee (4/29) but did not record any statistics...Hauled in three passes for 23 yards against Florida (5/15); however, his night will probably be best defined by what might have been... Late in the first quarter, he broke open into the secondary and was four yards ahead of any Bobcat defender when Peter Tom Willis fired a deep ball right into his hands. However, Wilson could not hang on to the almost-certain touchdown...In the third quarter, though, he rebounded, and when Willis threw deep to him again, Wilson hung on for what would have been a 31-yard touchdown, were it not for a holding penalty on Andre Bowden.

Other Pro Experience: Drafted by the Green Bay Packers with their fifth round pick (132nd overall) in 1990...Came off the bench in 15 games, catching seven passes for 84 yards on the season...Ran back 35 kickoffs for 798 yards, good for a 22.8-yard average, which ranked third in the NFC and fifth in the NFL...Caught five of his seven passes against Detroit (12/22)...In 1991, he again saw action in 15 games, starting two, with his first coming in Tampa Stadium against the Bucs (10/27), where he faced off against future Storm teammate Tony Covington...Scored his first touchdown on an 82-yard kickoff return against Dallas (10/6)...Was a part of the Pack's longest pass play of the year, scoring on a 75-yard fling from Mike Tomczak against Minnesota (11/17)...Ended the season with 19 catches for 305 yards... 1992 was not so kind a year for Wilson; he began the season on injured reserve, and was released by the Packers upon activation on September 14...Eight days later, he signed with San Diego, but the Chargers let him go just three days afterward...After nearly three months of waiting for another chance, he heeded Sam Wyche's call, signing with the Bucs on December 17 and playing in the team's final two games...Made the Buccaneer roster in 1993, and played in 15 games with one start at Minnesota (10/10)...Caught 15 passes for 225 yards and ran back 23 kickoffs for 454 yards...Took a significant step forward in 1994, starting seven games and leading the team in receiving touchdowns (six), yards- per-catch average (21.0) and finishing second on the Bucs in receiving yardage with 652 yards...His 21.0-yard average was good for second in the NFL, only trailing future Buccaneer malcontent Alvin Harper...All six of his scoring catches were of 35 yards or more...Against the Los Angeles Rams on a bright December afternoon in 1994, though, this previously anonymous receiver turned into Superman...He caught four passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns, including a 44- yard scoring catch with 1:34 left in the game that put the finishing touches on a 24-14 triumph...His yardage total for that game was the best for a Buc receiver in the history of Tampa/Houlihan's Stadium, and remains the third-best in Buccaneer history...Traded to the Jets before the 1995 season, he caught a career-high 41 passes for 484 yards and four touchdowns in his only full season in Gotham.

College: Played only three years at Memphis State, missing his senior year due to academic difficulties...Led the Tigers in receiving in his sophomore year (1987), hauling in 20 balls for 393 yards and two touchdowns...His longest reception was a 66-yarder against Southern Mississippi...Had his best season as a junior in 1988, catching 33 passes for 554 yards and two touchdowns while starting all 11 games... Also ran back 30 kickoffs for 735 yards, good for a healthy 24.5-yard average...His kickoff return numbers were good for school records...Had his best returning game against Tulane, running back four kickoffs for 152 yards, including a 97-yard touchdown, the second-longest in Tiger history...Enjoyed the best receiving game of his college career against Tennessee, blitzing the Volunteers for 110 yards and a score on eight receptions.

Personal: A native of Tallahassee, he attended Godby High School there, lettering in football and track.
