Height: 6-2 Weight: 260 Date of Birth: 4/23/67 College: Arkansas State Year-by-Year:1994: In first season with the Sting, tallied 18 total tackles in spot duty...Rushed for a career-best 17 yards on 10 carries against Cleveland (6/17)...Gained 13 yards on four carries vs. Tampa Bay (8/6).1995: Acquired by the Storm in a February 28, 1995 trade with the Sting...Came off the bench throughout the season and accounted for ten tackles, five assists, two sacks and a safety...On offense, scored a touchdown on his only reception of the season---a two-yarder against his former team, the Sting (6/24)...Both of his sacks came against Miami---one each at Miami (5/13) and at Tampa Bay (6/10)...Notched a sack in playoff win over Albany (8/18)...Recovered a fumble against Charlotte (5/26). 1996: Tied for fourth in the lead with a team-leading five sacks as he stepped into a more prominent role on the Storm...Recorded a career-high two sacks in Tampa Bay's win over San Jose (6/1)...Also posted sacks against Florida (6/8), Memphis (6/22) and Charlotte (6/29)...Stepped into FB/LB role after injuries to Tony Jones and Cedric McKinnon late in the year; he scored on a three-yard touchdown plunge against Texas (8/2) for the first rushing score of his career...Caught a career-long 12-yard pass for a touchdown against Albany (7/12)..Scored touchdowns on all three of his receptions during the season; in fact, if you take into account all the times he touched the ball on offense, he scored 50 percent of the time he got the ball. 1997: Recorded the Storm's first sack of the season against Nashville (5/23), but suffered a severe ankle injury on the play and was forced onto the injured reserve list...Did not return to action until the Storm's game against Anaheim (7/12)...Perhaps in testament to his significance to the team, Tampa Bay went 7-3 with Rowland in the lineup and 2-4 without...Recorded a season-best three tackles in the loss to Iowa (7/19)...Had a sack in the Storm's 48-22 win over Florida (7/26)...Had one reception for 11 yards at San Jose (8/2). 1998: Became one of the league's best linemen in 1998, leading all Storm linemen in sacks...Played both ways but did not record anything in the stat book at San Jose (5/1)...Assisted on two tackles and shared a sack of Andy Kelly with OL/DL Willie Wyatt against Nashville (5/9)...Assisted on a tackle against Houston (5/16)...Posted no statistics at Florida (5/23)...Made a tackle and an assist and broke up a pass at New Jersey (5/30)...Played but did not record any stats against New York (6/6)...Had a huge game at Orlando (6/12)...He posted the Storm's lone sack, on Connell Maynor in the second quarter...Took over the game on consecutive plays in the fourth quarter, first blocking a 65-yard field goal attempt by David Cool and then catching an 11-yard touchdown pass from Peter Tom Willis where he leaped for the ball and landed as gracefully as a large lineman can in the end zone...Named the league's Ironman of the Week for his efforts....Turned in yet another superlative effort against Albany (6/20)...Forced two Albany fumbles, including one on a sack of Mike Pawlawski, and led all Storm linemen with three total tackles and two solo stops...Continued to stake his claim as a contender for the league's Lineman of the Year award in the return match with Orlando (6/27)... Recorded two sacks, including one that forced a fumble in the final minute of the game...The fumble was picked up by Andre Bowden, who ran 36 yards for a score...Also posted two unassisted tackles....Had a relatively tranquil night in Houston (7/2), posting no statistics...Against the Bobcats (7/12), he posted a tackle and a team-high three assists...Corralled his first interception of the season, picking off a Fred McNair pass early in the second quarter and returning it 16 yards to the Bobcats' four-yard-line...Alas, the pick was for naught, as there was a fumbled center snap on the next play and the Bobcats got the ball back...At Nashville (7/17), he led Storm linemen with two total tackles, one solo and one an assist...Had another big game against Iowa (7/25) recording two sacks of Iowa QB Aaron Garcia for 11 yards...On one of the sacks, in the first quarter, he forced a fumble that Andre Bowden recovered...Caught one pass for eight yards...Closed the season witha bang at Grand Rapids (8/1), recovering a Cory Pullig fumble in the end zone for a score in the second quarter and posted one solo tackle...Cooled off in the postseason; he played in all three games but tallied only one solo tackle and two assists...Left unprotected by the Storm in the expansion draft and was selected by the Buffalo Destroyers...In Buffalo, was reunited with former Storm assistant head coach Dave Whinham. Career Highlights: Set a school record at Arkansas State with 14 sacks in one season (1989)...Also led the Indians that year in forced fumbles (4) and was fifth in tackles (63).
